About our Combi Shell Mill Drive Rings:
These are spare drive rings for combination shell mill holders (which can be used for driving face mills or side and face cutters). The purpose of the drive ring is that, if you are performing a milling operation and accidentally crash the cutter into the job while the spindle is turning the tangs of the drive ring should snap. This allows the cutter to remain stationary without causing it damage, while the spindle of the machine continues to turn.
