About our Omega Carbide Internal Threading Toolholders
Made from high quality CARBIDE these boring bars are the designed to suit our range of standard Internal LT threading inserts (featured on this site under the Thread Turning section). These bars should accept other manufacturers' inserts e.g. Vargus, Kennametal, Tungaloy, Walter, Mitsubishi etc. (with the exception of Sandvik - we do other Vardex holders that will fit their inserts). Unlike STEEL bars, that have a maximum recommended cutting length of 2.5 X Diameter, a Carbide bar is made of much denser material and can thread much deeper into holes. If bores that you are machining are suffering from: chatter, lack of accuracy, vibration and inserts chipping regularly, using a carbide bar as above is almost definitely the solution to these issues.
